I'm not aware of any examples, but it is fairly simple -- if you have 'auto-reconnect' enabled, and are using transactions, and your connection does an auto-reconnect in the middle of a transaction, you will be operating in a state where part of your transaction has actually been rolled back, and you will be doing part of your work in either a new transaction, or with autocommit suddenly enabled. So don't use it, and add proper error handling to your application to deal with being unexpectedly disconnected.
