MySQL make errors

When attempting to do a make on MySQL 4.0.23a source on Solaris 9 using gcc 
3.3.2 I get the
following error:

Configure produced a few warnings but exited with a status of 0 and seemed 
to be successful.

Any ideas what could be wrong?
