The script has been running since mid January, and stopped working after I
made the old_password modifications. I already undid all the modifications
and still doesn't work.
Here is with DBI_TRACE=3

hmmm, try perhaps setting a DBD->trace and see what exactly the script
is doing. I'm a bit baffled why it won't work. It worked before your
change for PHP right?
