The first three steps are more about making contact from ANY client. The fourth step is specific to using ODBC. Of course, there is an implicit zeroeth step to any project 0) RTFM. Just by doing that, so many basic questions can be answered. However, we all recognize that too much information can be as bad as no information at all and for many new users the manual can appear overwhelming.
