Thank you very much, Michael!!! Upon experimentation, long names are ok, but no spaces in directory names.. It also was not clear that one has to click the small red X in the upper left corner of the caption for the log file name field in the MySQL Administrator tool. I'd tried and tried, but for some reason this morning, with you email it clicked.. Thank you again, we're up and running!!
