I think we need a bit more than "it wont work". Do you get any error messages? What exactly happens? I do restores like this mysql -hlocalhost -uroot -p [DatabaseName] <dump.sql=20 Replace [DatabaseName] with the name of your database. You may need a different host and user name too. I suspect you need some more parameters on your restore command line.
