Re: Help init.ora

Hello Alfian,

In oracle 9i you have two parameter files. One is init.ora and the other one
is 'SPFILE<sid>'. By default Oracle reads the spfile<sid> to start on NT
platform, the path to this file is C:\oracle\database\SPFILE<SID>. You can
create a new init.ora file using this SPfile. I don't remember the command
on the top of my head but you can find it on Oracle website.

I also have a question for you. I have been using Oracle on NT platform for
some time but now I want to install it on Red Hat Linux. I do NOT have any
experience on Red Hat except that I installed it once on a machine. Can you
provide me some help as to what are the steps involved in Oracle
installation on Red Hat Linux. I have the Oracle 9i CDs for Linux.
