Hello Kirshnakant, Use these steps. Run the Oracle Universal Installer from the Oracle 9i Installation files. When it asks you as to what do you want to install, select Client. Then select one out of the three different clients, choose 1st or 2nd. After going through installation, Oracle will run the 'Net Configuration Assistant'. First it will prompt you for 'Naming method configuration', select 'Local Names'. Then give the SID i.e. the name of your database as the 'Service Name'. Then give the Host name i.e. the name of the machine where you have installed Oracle. After that test the connection and it should be 'successful' provided everything else is right. Before installing 9i client, do go through the 'hardware/software requirements' and check if you meet all those requirements.
