Hi,
Normally, the init.ora file is not kept in dbs only a link to it is
maintained in dbs. So, check for the init.ora file in
$ORACLE_BASE/admin/<SID>/pfile/init<sid>.ora file...(If you have created
database with OFA)
If it is present create a new file in dbs with
IFILE=$ORACLE_BASE/admin/<SID>/pfile/init<sid>.ora
Substitute for the actual path.. Or else create a link to the actual file
in dbs...

Subject: [oracle] Help init.ora

Please respond
to "Oracle"
Hi, all
I am using Oracle 9i Release 2 on Red Hat Linux 7.3.
Somehow, init.ora in my system dissapeared (probably, someone accidentally
erased it). I found it out when I shutdown the database and when I started
the database, oracle throws this error:
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file
'/home/oracle/product/9.2.0/dbs/initoracle.ora'
So I checked the directory that oracle pointed and the file initoracle.ora
is not there. Can I restore back or recreate initoracle.ora ?
Thanks,
Alfian
