RE:Oracle Client 8.0.6 & Oracle Server 9.0.2

Hi;

   We have oracle server 9.0.2 and oracle client 8.0.6, we have no problem 
issuing sql plus command in sql plus session, however encountered 
‘end-of-communication’ error (3113) when issuing via ODBC. The problem after 
investigation was due to numeric field having null value. In 8i, this is not 
a problem but in 9i I believe it is more stringent as what happen in 
dot.net. I would like to seek any advise/assistance on the steps I should be 
taken to resolve error 3113 error, taking into consideration updating the 
null value of the numeric field is not allowed by our users.
