Maybey a hint to all of you trying to connect to a datasource with a MS application. In Visual studio a data connection wizard exists. Therefore you start a blank project in ex. visual basic and open the Data view window. (View menu -> data view window) Right click on the data links and choose "Add data link". Then you can choose to data provider you want to use (ODBC, OLEDB, ... + Manufacterer), and specify the connection parameters. There even is a test button for testing the connection. After you made this data link, one of his property clearly specifies the entiry connection string for using the data link. and can be used to connect using ADO to the choosen database ... It's all in there ...
