Need at least 2 cpu, 512K RAM or more, 500mhz or up. Read this if you are configuring an NT server, even if not NT this will give you some good ideas. It gives good suggestios on how you separate files in different disk, either thru RAID or not. http://www.quest-pipelines.com/newsletter-v2/ORACLE_NT_CONFIG.pdf -----Original Message----- From: Satya Prakash [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, January 30, 2003 10:27 PM To: Oracle Subject: [oracle] Sizing the Database Server for Oracle Please let me know the parameters which decide the size of server hosting a database in terms of CPU speed and number of CPUs Memory size (RAM) Hard Disk size Is there any standard benchmarking in deciding such parameters at the time of proposal? I have gone through www.tpc.org (Transaction Processing Council). They have some standard benchmarking standards . It is good. But I wanted to know the Standard configuration for the above mentioned parameters for which the server can be hosted Regards, Satya Prakash __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
