RE: Error with Importing

You are right. If your database is 8.1.7 and you are exporting one to load
into a 8.1.6 database, you should use the 8.1.6 EXP tool in the 8.1.7
database instance. I was only commenting on the warning  "objects were
exported by CYBORG, not by you". If one has no IMP_FULL_DATABASE privilege,
importing an export done by another user will not work.

I have done lots of imports in the past successfully. This is the only time
I have had this error! Someone has suggested it maybe a problem with
importing from an 8.17 into an 8.16 database and the other area I thought it
might be was with the NLS (although I can't seem to change to the UK
settings the database export was done with) I also wondered if it might be
incompatibilities between windows and AIX.

But what I really need is any help on how I can do the import or reasons why
it won't work,

To be able to import a file exported by someone else other than you, you
must be have the IMP_FULL_DATABASE role granted to you.

Hi,
I'm getting the following error when I try to import a dump file created in
Oracle 8.1.7 on AIX. I am importing into Oracle 8.1.6 on Windows 2k server.
I believe I need to change the NLS settings BUT every time I try my oracle
instance throws an error!

The Error:-
