You're not using a 10 client with 11 database are you? Maybe Toad 11 is using the wrong Oracle home?

  Sorry, I thought earlier you said you were using Oracle 10.

  I am not sure what is wrong.  I tried Toad 11.0 with Oracle 11.2.0.1 and that create table statement worked just fine for me.  I also tried with Oracle 11.1.0.6 and no problems there either.

My ORACLE database is 11gR2. If I compare your last answer and the answer before, I am not able
to catch the hint.

SO, let me resume:

Working environment:
ORACLE 11gR2
TOAD 10.6.1.3

Non-Working environment:
ORACLE 11gR2
TOAD 11.0

Also, the create statement works fine in some other editors, including SQL*PLus

If I copy/paste
CREATE TABLE TABLE_XMLBINARY OF XMLType
XMLTYPE store AS BINARY XML;

to the TOAD v11 editor and run with F9, the keyword BINARY is highlighted

If you paste the statement in the editor and run with F9, it should highlight the part of the statement that causes the error.  What part is getting highlighted?
