Toad is currently developed using a 32 bit system, so it is itself, 32 bit.

However, Toad happily runs on 64 bit Windows.

However, because Toad is still 32 bit, you will need to ensure that a 32 
bit Oracle client exists otherwise you will not be able to connect to a 
database - of any "bitness".

Regardless of the "bitness" of the actual database, a 32 bit client will 
happily connect.

64 bit Toad is coming - but it's only recently that Delphi itself became 
64 bit. There are other components used in Toad that will need to also 
be upgraded to 64 bit by their developers before Toad itself will be 64 bit.
