Thanks, Norm. I didn't see a strings executable in the link you sent, but SysInternals has one that worked quite well. Hopefully I won't need it anymore! I'm thinking, if you can see statements in the file, then perhaps you can use the Linux/Unix "strings" command to strip out all of the crud leaving only the text? strings wendys_file > wendys.txt You may get some crud in there as well as the valid SQL, but it's bound to be better than nothing? If you like, send it to me and I'll run it through strings for you. Or, you can download the GNU Utilities for Windows and get all sorts of Linux/Unix commands on your Windows box!
