Yep, not my issue (but good advice), I can select from the table, I can even get the pick list for the table in the SE, it seems be be related only to the F4 Describe operation. I seem to remember this being an issue some time ago with the beta but it was fixed - it appears to be back. And its really annoying because all of our tables are accessed via public synonyms - code in one schema, tables in another. --- In [email protected], Bert Scalzo <bert.scalzo@...> wrote: > > I'm sure you know this and this is not your issue - but for the benefit of others who may read this thread - USERB must also GRANT privs to USERA for things to work. A public synonym only makes the name of the object available to the public - users must still be granted privs either directly (e.g. grant select, insert, update, delete on USERB.table_x to USERA) or indirectly by a bigger priv such as select any table. > > > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of r_squires > Sent: Sunday, May 06, 2012 7:47 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [toad] Re: F4 Describe not working via DB Link? > > > > And when I say "via DB Link" I obviously mean Public Synonym. :) > > DB Link doesn't appear to have anything to do with it. > > --- In [email protected]<mailto:toad%40yahoogroups.com>, "r_squires" <r_squires@<mailto:r_squires@>> wrote: > > > > I connected as USERA, I describe a table owned by USERB that also has a Public DB Link defined. When I describe the object from a USERA SQL Editor window I get the message USERA.OBJECT does not exist. It should use the DB Link and display USERB.OBJECT. > > > > 11.5.0.56 > > > > Richard > > > ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
