That would be the auto-replace feature. In Toad 10.6.1.3 it's located: View -> Toad Options -> Editor -> Behavior -> Auto Replace button I could see why it would affect code - returns is not a valid word for an Oracle pl/sql function, it's return. However, the replacement within comments should probably go. It kinda sucks when you can't use normal "language" wording in your comments :) Roger S.
