RE: Returns and a space not allowed in Toad

If you didn’t get around to it yet, this is from the “Auto Replace Substitutions” Help topic:
To edit Auto Replace entries

  1.  From the Toad Options | Editor - Behavior page, click Auto Replace.

  1.  Make changes in the Auto Replace grid.
Looks like this:

·         On the main toolbar, click [cid:[email protected]]  (Configure TOAD options)

·         Under Editor, click Behavior, and then Auto replace.

[cid:[email protected]]


·         Select “returns” and click Delete.

[cid:[email protected]]
You can always add it back if you find you need it in the future.

Have you gone and simply deleted or removed the auto replace for return as a workaround ???

Same behavior occurs and workaround succeeds with space character.

If I typed '-- returns' or 'returns' and then moved to the next line using the mouse and cursor the 's' stays

Very strange but there's definitely a coded instruction that makes it do that whenever the enter key is used.
