Subject: [toad] Alternate option for v$lock is DBA_LOCKS

Hi,

My DBA says we must not use v$lock and find an alternative option for it.

I found that dba_locks is an alternate option for v$lock in Oracle.

But when i use "select * from dba_locks". It throws an error message "ORA00942 Table or View does not exists."

Could you please tell me what i am missing.

Also can u tell me what privilege i need to give such that dba_locks can be selected for the records using my login to the oracle DB.

Regards,
