Hi, We've been using Sourcesafe for years and want to move away from it because it has long been abandoned. ClearCase was a natural choice because it is used heavily elsewhere in our company, and there are administrators available to help. We spent quite a bit of time planning and testing all aspects of it, and everything was looking good for the switch. Until we tested Toad with it. Individual testing went well and was looking promising, but when we set up two testers, things began to fall apart. The problem we had is with Team Coding. Code control groups have to point to the folder where the source is located. With Sourcesafe, that location is on the server, but with ClearCase, it is a local snapshot (dynamic views totally do not work, snapshot view was the only hope). The setting is global, so if set to my folder, it won’t work for anyone else because they are, obviously, not connected to my PC. We gave it a good try, and this was even after Quest support telling us that ClearCase is not supported. So here we are still with Sourcesafe, and Toad is the only reason. Sent by: [email protected] Hello, Does anybody use IBM Rational ClearCase for source control. I’ve started working with it recently, and would appreciate any real world perspective. Thanks in advance Stephen
