My = only thought would be that perhaps toad.exe process is still running from t= he first time you tried to launch and it's preventing another toad.exe from= running? Have you rebooted your machine at all in between your steps belo= w? I am on Windows = 7 Professional, service pack 1. Below are the steps I = have taken: Monday when I tried to open my TOAD for Oracle Freeware V11.5, it gave me t= he message that "This version of Toad for Oracle has expired. You must dow= nload a new version before proceeding." It had been approx. 1 week since I= 'd used it. I had downloaded the V11.5 in Sept 2012, so the year was not u= p, so I assume it was simply the migration to a new version. It did not = find my Oracle home, and then I realized my Oracle client is a 32-bit, so I= uninstalled 64-bit FreeTOAD V11.6 and downloaded the 32-bit installer. I = ran the installer and everything seemed to progress/install fine - I did no= t get any error messages. I then tried starting the application - from the desktop shortcut, from the= All Programs -> Quest Software -> TOAD for Oracle Freeware 11.6 path, and = by directly double-clicking the exe in windows explorer. In all cases, I = see a very brief processing circle at my mouse pointer (~1 second) and then= nothing happens. I ran the same install again (double clicked msi file) and ran it in repair= mode, thinking perhaps there had been some problem during the install that= wasn't obvious. Same results/behavior. Then I tried completely uninstalling it, downloading the 32-bit installer a= gain, and running the install. Same results/behavior. I think that's all the steps I took. I appreciate any insights/suggestions/guidance you can share.
