Location: Portland, OR

 

Description:

We are looking to hire for a Postgres DBA that will work with developers,
Product Management, and IT to develop database solutions to support company
operations. In addition to these responsibilities, the hired candidate will
also develop a data warehouse and the ETL processes to support business
intelligence and data transparency initiatives via reports creation, data
integration, and application development.

Job Summary:

This position works with developers, Product Management, and IT to develop
database solutions to support company operations. In addition to these
responsibilities, the hired candidate will also develop a data warehouse and
the ETL processes to support business intelligence and data transparency
initiatives via reports creation, data integration, and application
development.

 

Responsibilities include:

. Responsible for overall database design and integration.

. Work with internal application teams, infrastructure teams, outside
vendors, and consultants to create seamless and dependable systems.

. Understand business processes.

. Understand the technical architecture of internally developed
applications.

. Protect the confidentiality and security of client data.

. Share 24x7 on-call support for US-only database environments.

 

Qualifications:

. At least 3 years of PostgreSQL DBA experience.

. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment with
short deadlines, interruptions, and multiple tasks/projects occurring at
once

. Demonstrated ability to mentor others through technical team leadership

. Experience developing, deploying, and supporting ETL workflows.

. Experience designing databases, data modeling and working as a DB
developer in a data warehouse environment.

. Experience in full life cycle development of applications.

. Experience in production support and monitoring of real-time ETL and batch
ETL processes.

. Experience with backup and recovery.

. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science,
Information Systems, or equivalent.

 

Nice to Have:

. Experience developing shell scripts in a Unix or Linux environment.

. Experience developing in Ruby.

. Experience with Tableau.

. Experience with AWS, particularly RDS.
