Sr. Postgres Database Engineer – Telecommute

CargoTel, Inc., is a web and mobile SaaS business focused on the logistics
industry in the US and internationally. We have a robust logistics legacy
ERP web platform based on Perl/Informix to which we add HTML5 hybrid
Android and iOS mobile modules. The ERP platform is currently transitioning
to a PostGreSQL/AWS environment.



***** We seek an experienced *Postgres Database Engineer – 10+ years
experience ******



CargoTel is embarking on a project to convert an existing Perl/Informix
dedicated hardware structure to a Perl/Postgres/cloud structure for a large
ERP system.  This position will spearhead the effort.



* Required Skills:

-Proven (10+ years documented) expert level experience with and command of
PostgreSQL, including version 9+.
              --Query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, triggers
              --Structural/architectural expertise
              --Database administration and security
-Medium to expert level proficiency in Perl (PHP a consideration)
-Familiarity with AWS / Cloud environment (especially EC2/RDS/PostGres)
-Strong troubleshooting skills
-Git/GitHub



* Bonus Points if you have:

- Working knowledge of Informix v.11+
- Admin experience in Linux-type environment (we are on CentOS)
- Hands on experience with Informix to Postgres conversion(s)
- Expertise in Postgres v.9.4
- Working knowledge of Postgres v.9.4 replication functionality
- Expertise in any of the following:   BPM, Elasticsearch, JSON/RESTful
API's
