PostgreSQL DBA Career Opportunity--New Hope PA

Our client has an immediate need for a PostgreSQL DBA at their New Hope, PA
location.  Following is more information on the specific job requirements.



*PostgreSQL Database Administrator*



What You’ll Do:

   - Work in a 24-7 environment to managed and maintain existing large
   Scale Postgres infrastructure
   - Work with DBA team to ensure database performance and reliability
   - Maintain monitoring and reporting systems for our Postgres clusters
   - Perform data retention, mining and maintenance tasks
   - Ensure backups
   - Fulfill legal-related data requests
   - Work with engineering teams to create and enhance schema and database
   APIs

Qualifications:

   - BS or MS Degree from an accredited University with minimum 10 years
   work experience in IT industry
   - 4+ years of Database administration experience in PostgreSQL
   - 4+ years of experience working in UNIX/Linux environments
   - 3+ years of experience working with large databases
   - Availability to write advanced SQL queries
   - Experience with operations related database tasks such as monitoring,
   performance tuning, backup, and recovery
   - Experience with 24x7 zero downtime database management
   - Experience with high-available web applications
   - Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes
   - Ability to program in at least two of the following languages: C, PHP,
   Python, Perl, Java
   - Strong knowledge of BASH scripting

What We Like to See:

   - A strong understanding of clustering methodologies and
   - optimizations
   - A background in programming, math, or computer science
   - Experience in large scale OLTP environments
   - Experience administering or developing against Oracle 7/8/8i/9i
   - Experience with SQL Server
   - Experience with DB2
   - Experience with MySQL
   - Development using PL/pgSQL
   - Experience with Skytools (specifically PgBouncer and PL/Proxy)
   - Experience with various Postgres replication systems
