Principal Software Engineer - EnterpriseDB

EnterpriseDB, the Enterprise PostgreSQL Company, is seeking a
Principal Software Engineer to join our development team.  The ideal
location for this position is Bangalore, India; but exceptional candidates
in other geographies will be considered.  This position involves developing
major new features for PostgreSQL and for EnterpriseDB's Postgres Plus
Advanced Server in response to needs articulated by our sales team and
customers under the direction of senior technical management, with a focus
on performance and scalability. This position also involves maintenance of
the existing code base, including code merges, refactoring, and bug
fixing.  The successful candidate should be able to perform in-depth code
reviews of patches written by other team members and mentor junior team
members to improve their skills, and should be able to interact directly
and at a high level with the PostgreSQL community and other open source
communities.


A qualified candidate will have the following:

- At least 5 years of recent C programming experience.
- Significant knowledge of database internals, either with PostgreSQL
or some other RDBMS.
- Solid communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Previous involvement with the PostgreSQL community or another open
source community is a plus.
- Experienced in working with a global team in a fast moving environment.
