PostgreSQL Database Developer

                My client located in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Developer for a long term contract. Candidate must be on site for at least one year then may have the option to work remotely. I included a brief job description below.

Experis is seeking an Database Developer -PostgreSQL for a long term contract located in Chicago, IL.

Solid understanding of database design principals
Minimum 3-5 years experience with Postgresql 9.x and Oracle 11g
Solid understanding of query execution plans
Experience opimizing JSON files extremely important
Mastery of ANSI SQL and/or PL-SQL
Good SQL scripts skill including SPs, PSQL scripting & functions
Good performance tuning skills
Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve production database systems issues.
Solid background using UNIX operating systems - RedHAT or CentOS
Experience working with JSON Files

Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices, including planning, testing, backup/restore
Experience in replication
Hands-on experience on database administration, backup recovery and troubleshooting

Problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment
Ability to communicate ideas and designs to all stakeholders, including non-technical audiences

Education and Experience:
Minimum bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field;
Minimum five years of progressive experience performing PostgreSQL administration in a production environment; experience should include three or more years of database administration in an enterprise level environment with very large databases
