As a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, you will join a talented and dedica=
ted team of database professionals with extensive experience in supporting =
critical applications. You will work closely with your colleagues on the de=
velopment team and in other technology groups. You will gain exposure to ex=
perts on financial markets responsible for crafting our leading products an=
d services.

Your skills in database administration will be challenged and grow in an ex=
citing environment. Your expertise in troubleshooting, analysing query plan=
s, tuning SQL and writing advanced pgSQL will be leveraged and grow extensi=
vely. You will utilize best practices to provide the highest quality and mo=
st reliable support. You will be involved in identifying and implementing o=
ngoing improvements to these practices.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:
You'll perform both administrative and some development related work.  Admi=
nistrative functions are of course the primary focus of this role and will =
include installations, upgrades, backups, replication and disaster recovery=
 setup, monitoring and capacity planning.  Development related work will in=
clude scripting changes for installations, and tuning of SQL statements, st=
ored procedures, and indexes.  Troubleshooting skills will certainly be a c=
ritical success factor.

This is a 24/7 rotational environment where each team member must be open t=
o and available for night and weekend work in accordance with the team's sc=
hedule.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the followi=
ng tasks:
* Perform installations and upgrades of PostgreSQL
* Manage database backups
* Define maintenance plans
* Configure replication
* Setup disaster recovery
* Monitor servers
* Capacity planning
* Script database changes
* Tune SQL statements
* Optimize stored procedures
* Analyse query plans
* Write advanced pgSQL
* Troubleshoot problems
* Writing scripts

What we look for:
* BA or BS required or equivalent related work experience
* 2-4 years of experience in Database Administration with PostgreSQL
* Ability to work nights and weekends as required
* Knowledge of or experience writing SQL queries and/or other SQL developme=
nt
* Strong PostgreSQL troubleshooting skills
* Linux/CentOS experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Self-starter and ability to work independently
* Oracle experience is a plus
