Lead Data Architect and Database Developer-Schaumburg, IL

Responsibilities:

*	Lead the data modeling and RDBMS design for our high-volume data
warehouse application and establish standards across modules
*	Develop stored functions and triggers using PSQL and BASH Scripts
with CRON to automate as part of our application needs
*	Oversee development and production database and server performance
with improvements
*	Perform code reviews of SQL and offer performance related
improvements to the team as needed
*	Define database backup and recovery practices
*	Investigate and recommend third-party reporting solutions with an
overall strategy for their integration

Qualifications:

*	BS in Computer Science or higher.
*	5 years professional development experience, with 1+ years'
experience with Postgres or Oracle
*	Practical experience developing a data warehouse using dimensional
modeling techniques
*	Experience with data modeling design (CASE) tools (Erwin, Toad
Schema Modeler, etc.)
*	Highly proficient with SQL and PSQL and related tuning with indexes
and database parameters
*	Proficient with developing methods of loading large volumes of data
automatically into a database
*	Experience with table partitioning strategies and related
implementation
*	Proficient with interpreting query explain plans, reviewing data
within tables and recommending indexing strategies
*	Experience with establishing methods for base-lining database
performance and measuring improvements with changes
*	Experience with spatial data types (SDO_Geometry or public.geometry)
and related functions (optional)
*	Capable of setting up database servers and instances from scratch on
linux (optional)
*	Experience in recommending and configuring optimal hardware
solutions including storage area networks (optional)
*	Experience with Agile development practices and Scrum (optional)
