[PORTS] postgresql error

Dear sir,

   I am using mandriva linux 2006 and reinstalled postgresql 8.1.4 and
firstly it work sucessfully and i am restart the computer then postgres not
working there is an error:-

psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
        Is the server running locally and accepting
        connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?

So please send me the help about this problem
