Since I forgot to mention a few details- this is based off of
v2.2.0-beta2, using autoconf-2.58, and automake-1.8 (1.8 is required
for the native kdelibs). I haven't played w/ postgres support,
although I'd think it shouldn't be too hard to get working if there are
problems.

A better phrasing of it would've been using the new DB/server wizard.

I've posted it at http://linux1.genetics.wisc.edu/rekall-osx/rekall.log
;
Debug has been enabled, a collection of printf statements for some
earlier debugging are still on, and the info from each desktop scan is
being output currently.
I threw in a few comments to indicate what I was doing- pretty much,
started wizard now, finished it, modified the server entry... etc.
I've also placed two patches at
http://linux1.genetics.wisc.edu/rekall-osx -
rekall-2.2.0-beta2-osx-{kludged,04022004}.patch.bz2 - the kludged patch
is just that, a working version w/ a kludge built in to get python to
compile correctly, the 04022004 patch has the necessary build/configure
modifications to support specifying python-(include,libraries).
admin.kde3/* has had a lot of work done in it, while admin.qt3 hasn't
been touched. At this point, I would be surprised if that patch worked
on linux systems- the whole thing is still a bit raw.
