Minimal rrdtool for use in embedded c++ environment

Hi,
I am considering using rrdtool in an embedded c++ environment. However,
I do not want the baggage of all of the dependencies like libpng, etc. Is
there a stripped down version of rrdtool that can be used for this purpose?
