Unfortunately no databases are displayed o-:) I opened DBMGUI then i opened the File/Register Dialog. I've filled the field 'List databases from server:' with the IP Adress of my Linux Server. Then i pressed the '!' button and after some seconds the message '-4 communication error' appears. The same error appears if i try it with the Database Wizard, after filling in the name of the instance, IP-Adress, and an user (i tried it with root and a normal user)/pasword combination. Do i need some more configurations on the Linux Server or is it enough when x_server is started? I can't find any informations how the DBMGUI communicates with a remote Server, so it is difficult to find the error.... Thank's for any suggestions, Andreas I tried this but unfortunatley there "Eko Subagio" <[email protected]> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:[email protected]... > From W2k DBMGUI, you can use Register or install instance, then in the > second name after > database name put your remote linux server .... > > While using register, you can discover installed database on remote linux. > Just put ip address, > then click the button with sign ! > > the list of your database on remote server will displayed > > >
