Hi, I compiled the devtools on Solaris x86 some days ago. > '-DINCLUDEDIR="/usr/include"' parse.c "parse.c", line 239: > internal compiler error: Wasted space > cc: acomp failed for parse.c > gmake[4]: *** [parse.o] Error 2 > gmake[4]: Leaving directory `/SAP/sys/src/base/ptoc/tools/makedepend' > gmake[3]: *** [all] Error 2 > gmake[3]: Leaving directory `/SAP/sys/src/base/ptoc/tools' > gmake[2]: *** [mktools] Error 2 > .... > > Analysis: Can't figure out why there would be a internal > compiler issue, when looking at the code, except the way how > the code blocks are defined might have something to do with > the problem. This is due to an error in the compiler. Install patch 111680-08, this will fix this error. > $ which make > /usr/ccs/bin/make > $ make > (cd sys/src/base; make && make install) > cd ptoc; make all install libinstall > cd tools ; make > make: Fatal error in reader: ../Makedefs, line 20: Unexpected > end of line seen Current working directory > /SAP/sys/src/base/ptoc/tools > *** Error code 1 I did a softlink on /opt/sfw/bin/gmake to /opt/sfw/make and made sure that /opt/sfw/bin is in your PATH before /usr/ccs/bin: bash-2.05$ which make /opt/sfw/bin/make I did alot of "hand" tuning, you should have a look a the config files in TOOLSRC/sys/src/tt/comp*.pl.tt Here is the compiler specific stuff. I had to play with the macros SVR4, SUN and I386. I can send you a diff against a current tree if you like to.
