MSSQL weird problem connectivity

Hello Friends,


I have a really weird behavior !

Here is my freeetds.conf

[MS]
   host = 192.168.10.95
   tds version = 8.0
   port= 1093
---------------------
It is an instance but for some reason i cannot make it work with INSTANCE=XXXX

I was able to connect using
-----------------------------------
tsql -S MS -U theuser
----------------------------------
i got the "1>"

After that i used i complied sybase and used a  perl script

use DBI;


my $dbh = DBI->connect("dbi:Sybase:MS","theuser","XXXXX");

die "Unable for connect to server $DBI::errstr"
   unless $dbh;

my $rc;
my $sth;

$sth = $dbh->prepare("select \@\@servername");
if($sth->execute) {
   while(@dat = $sth->fetchrow) {
               print "@dat\n";
   }
}

 i got this  every times this error message

DBI connect('MS','thesuer',...) failed: (no error string) at
../sample_scripts/init.pl line 5
Unable for connect to server  at ../sample_scripts/init.pl line 7.


Anything idea of what i am missing???

SYBASE=/usr/local/freetds is set btw
