Re: tsql Unable to connect: Adaptive Server is unavailable or does not exist

Turns out SQL Server Express has TCP/IP requests disabled by default.
Enabling those through SQL Server Configuration Manager > SQL Server
Network Configuration > Protocols > TCP/IP eliminated the error.
