Not sure if it is any help to you, but the very last comment in the PHP Bug Report #44872 mentions a possible workaround to prevent that error. Seems like that error has been around for a long time. I've never experienced it personally and have been running FreeTDS to talk to MSSQL Servers for about a year and a half now on most versions of PHP 5.2. http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=44872 On Tue, Apr 27, 2010 at 8:38 AM, Brian Johnson <[email protected]>wrote: > > Hello list, > I am having a problem when using FreeTDS and am curious if anyone else has > encountered this at some point. > > I am running the following: > FreeBSD 6.4 x64 bit > Apache 2.0.63 > PHP 5.2.8 and 5.2.12 with Suhosin-Patch 0.9.6.3 > > When we go to access a page that is pulling data from a database server, > apache segfaults and we get the following in our /var/log/messages: > > Apr 27 10:30:56 my-machine-name-1 suhosin[5251]: ALERT - canary mismatch on > efree() - heap overflow detected (attacker 'my.ip.addr.ess', file > '/usr/local/www/dev-assessment-03.mydomain.com/admin/dm.index.php', line > 635) > > The error only seems to occur intermittently, like say 7-8 out of every 10 > attempts. > > Has anyone encountered this?
