Vinh: Which environment variable did you set to indicate the location of the freetds.conf file? What is the value of this variable? Paul From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Vinh Nguyen Sent: Saturday, May 15, 2010 1:54 PM To: FreeTDS Development Group Subject: [freetds] FreeTDS and unixODBC issues on Mac OS X Dear list, First, let me know if I should contact unixODBC instead and sorry for the inconvenience. After getting the locale issue of FreeTDS resolved (thanks to you guys, specifying v8.0 works now), I'm trying to get the two working together on my Mac OS X, both compiled from source. tsql (I use it through bsqldb for batch) works. However, I get the following when issuing isql: [S1000][unixODBC][FreeTDS][SQL Server]Unable to connect to data source [01000][unixODBC][FreeTDS][SQL Server]Unknown host machine name. [ISQL]ERROR: Could not SQLConnect A TDSDUMP yields log.c:196:Starting log file for FreeTDS 0.83.dev.20100504 on 2010-05-15 10:34:22 with debug flags 0x4fff. iconv.c:337:tds_iconv_open(0x10010c210, ISO-8859-1) iconv.c:197:local name for ISO-8859-1 is ISO-8859-1 iconv.c:197:local name for UTF-8 is UTF-8 iconv.c:197:local name for UCS-2LE is UCS-2LE iconv.c:197:local name for UCS-2BE is UCS-2BE iconv.c:365:setting up conversions for client charset "ISO-8859-1" iconv.c:367:preparing iconv for "ISO-8859-1" <-> "UCS-2LE" conversion iconv.c:408:preparing iconv for "ISO-8859-1" <-> "ISO-8859-1" conversion iconv.c:411:tds_iconv_open: done util.c:337:tdserror(0x100108540, 0x10010c210, 20013, 0) odbc.c:2118:msgno 20013 20003 util.c:367:tdserror: client library returned TDS_INT_CANCEL(2) util.c:390:tdserror: returning TDS_INT_CANCEL(2) login.c:421:IP address pointer is empty login.c:423:Server SYBASE not found! mem.c:615:tds_free_all_results() error.c:412:odbc_errs_add: "Unable to connect to data source" error.c:584:SQLError(0x0, 0x10010bbf0, 0x0, 0x7fff5fbfd6a0, 0x7fff5fbfd6b4, 0x7fff5fbfdea0, 513, 0x7fff5fbfd6be) error.c:562:_SQLError: "Unknown host machine name." error.c:584:SQLError(0x0, 0x10010bbf0, 0x0, 0x7fff5fbfd6a0, 0x7fff5fbfd6b4, 0x7fff5fbfdea0, 513, 0x7fff5fbfd6be) error.c:562:_SQLError: "Unable to connect to data source" error.c:584:SQLError(0x0, 0x10010bbf0, 0x0, 0x7fff5fbfd6a0, 0x7fff5fbfd6b4, 0x7fff5fbfdea0, 513, 0x7fff5fbfd6be) odbc.c:3883:SQLFreeConnect(0x10010bbf0) odbc.c:3855:_SQLFreeConnect(0x10010bbf0) odbc.c:3906:SQLFreeEnv(0x100101e40) odbc.c:3893:_SQLFreeEnv(0x100101e40) [S1000][unixODBC][FreeTDS][SQL Server]Unable to connect to data source [01000][unixODBC][FreeTDS][SQL Server]Unknown host machine name.
