Using freetds to connect to MSSQL 2005.

I'm using PHP + freetds to connect to MSSQL 2005 and I'm getting random errors. My dsn looks like: dblib:host=10.218.209.85:1433;dbname=MyDBName About 50% of the time it will connect and I can query the DB just fine. The other 50% I get: SQLSTATE[HY000] Unable to connect: Adaptive Server is unavailable or does not exist (severity 9) I've verified that I have IP connectivity the whole way, and my username and password is correct. I just randomly get the above error. When I check the freetds logs I don't see anything for the failed attempts. The working attempts log fine, but not the failed attempts. How can I troubleshoot this more? What "tds version" should I have in my freetds.conf? Currently I'm using 8.0. -- Scott Baker - Canby Telcom System Administrator - RHCE - 503.266.8253
