Insert binary data into an image column

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to send binary data to an image 
column.  I have data represented by the hex:

80025d7100284b014b02652e

that I would like to insert.  Note, that hex needs to be decoded to get 
the data, I just encoded it to hex for the ease of posting here on the 
list.

How do I quote this and embed into an INSERT string that I can give to 
dbcmd()?
