Update:

I've tried to do an explicit:

./configure --prefix/home/myself --with-unixodbc=/usr/lib/unixODBC --with-
tdsver=7.20

followed my 'make' and 'make install'

but it didn't change my 'tsql -C' the slightest bit:

TDS version: 5.0
unixodbc: no
