Yes, it's the way it works, post release updated (which are created
automatically) does
not create/update NEWS or ChangeLog. Note however the ChangeLog is not
distributed
and actually is no more updated since 2012 as now changes are in git log.
Probably the ChangeLog files should be removed from git too, make no sense and
you get them back from history if needed.

Would however make sense to have a new ChangeLog in the distribution
file containing
changes since the release.
