Another option to this would be to define field 178 in one dictionary @ID=ITEMWHOLE D 178 DESCRIPTION 1L S And then @ID=ITEMPART I ITEMWHOLE ; @1<1,1> PIECEofITEM 1L S This way if you ever move where the ITEM is stored, just change the D Item. BUT You might still Have to recompile the I descriptor - I don't think it will automatically sense the ITEMWHOLE Reference changed.
