If I have a "recall" (our terminology for a canned query) like this:

I get an excel spreadsheet as an attachment like this, limited only by what excel can handle.  I've used a variety of formats over the years, but have come back to doing tab-delimited, but naming the file *.xls - that seems to be the most likely to not get mangled in transit and still open in a variety of spreadsheet programs and versions.
