Nick,

Just noticed that you made some changes to help building from cvs. FYI; I have 
found that I need to have libtoolize executed at top of Makefile.cvs for build 
to work on my most recent OpenSuSE install. I think the libtool version I have 
is simply not compatible with the existing files in cvs.
