Support for multiple debuggers simultaneously

Question:

   Is it possible to step through with the debugger starting in one
language such as perl/python and then step down into a C compiled binary
and switch inferrior debuggers on the fly?

  Ie         python  main
pydb
                    compiled C lib swiged into python               gdb
on the C source
              python  main
pydb
                    perl swiged into python
ddd on the perl source
              python end of main
pydb

The program above would be a python program with compiled C and perl
swiged together into it.


I know eclipse doesn't do this, but I was curious with the DDD setup the
way it is if this is/would be possible?
