"Unable to parse pathname-substitutions" in source window.

I just built a DDD 3.1.11 on my 10.4 Mac using darwin ports. Anytime  
i try to use the source window after my symbols are loaded i get  
"Unable to parse pathname-substitutions".

Does anyone know how to resolve this?
