ddd seg fault

Hi,
Right after I load the shared object, and do run either on the DDD or the GDB, I get
the following on my gdb screen of the ddd debugger:

(gdb) file /opt/../xyz.so
(gdb) run
(gdb) warning: shared library handler failed to enable breakpoint.
program received SIGSEGV segmentation fault.

my system spec:
gnu ddd 3.3.11
