ddd & Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (32 bit version)

Dear Team,

I am running into a strange issue with ddd. I have a newly installed
Ubuntu 10.04 fully updated. Using synaptic package manager, I downloaded
and installed ddd. I find I cannot enter any text into text boxes. These
include any file navigation dialog boxes as well as the (): dialog in
ddd. Kdbg works fine.
