bug in ddd segfault on attempting to use run command

I start ddd ./myprog
I set a break point
I attempt to set the thing running with arguments
either by typing run args ... in the pane at the bottom
or using the gui interface through the program menu->run...
either way on typing ddd segfaults

I am using ubuntu 13.10 and ddd used to work fine
